We interviewed Miki about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
It is a very solid fabric. As the design is spread apart, I thought something large would make more of an impact for French bulldog fans than a small item, so I came up with an apron idea. The solid fabric will also make it last longer.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
I created the pattern using my everyday apron as a reference. To expedite the process, store-bought tape is used in lieu of creating the strap from the fabric.

cs188_3

KF: What are some tips for making this Apron?
The important point in the process of making this reversible apron is sewing all the parts together. In order to put them together securely, the tapes are basted first. For a clean finish, iron the corner prior to sewing.

KF: How should we use this apron in everyday situations?
As it is getting colder, this reversible apron will keep you warm. In addition to using it as an apron, you can also wear it as room wear with a pair of leggings. A matching scrunchy will allow you to enjoy it as part of your overall style.

We interviewed Kanae about her creation:

Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
It has such beautiful bright colors that I wanted to make something exciting that would cheer you up.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?

Matryoshka is a doll that is nested inside another doll, and I took this “nesting” idea to create these boxes with a Matryoshka design fabric.

KF: What are some tips for making these boxes?
You can use a sewing machine to apply piping, but I chose to do it by hand, as it prevents mistakes and you can finish it cleanly. It is fun to hand stitch while listening to a music or enjoying a chat.

KF: How should we use these boxes in everyday situations?
When not in use, you can keep them compact.

Puppy Pouch

Size: 19.9cm (l) 22cm (w)

The project is a flat pouch in print fabric with lovely puppies that make you want to hug them.
Featuring an outer front zipper, the accent is a stripe fabric, slightly peeking from the edge of the zipper. The bag will be very useful in organizing such small items that often get lost in the bag, like a face mask, mini disposable heating pad and hand cream!

We interviewed Kanae about her creation:

Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
I decided to make a flat pouch because I wanted to create something that you can really appreciate: a lovely large design of a puppy. Every single one of the four puppies is so cute that it makes you want to create four individual pouches featuring each of them.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
I paid special attention to the color combination, even treating a zipper as one of the colors. Overall color balance was considered so that the combination would not look odd when the zipper is opened.

KF: What are some tips for making this pouch?
The process for side stitches is slightly different. You may find it confusing just by reading the instructions, however by learning this method, you can shorten the sewing time and it is very convenient.

KF: How should we use this pouch in everyday situations?
It is a flat pouch, yet it holds a lot, allowing you to organize random items in a bag.

Tied Shoulder Bag

Size: 28cm (l) x 35cm (w)

Made with an ethnic style fabric, this shoulder bag features a tied handle design. The sewing process is rather simple, mainly constructed with one major piece of fabric. It is an easy-to-make versatile bag perfect for different occasions.

Design & Work:Mioko Sugino

Materials:
□ Fabric (Main bag): 80cm×90cm
   (Handle backing fabric先布): 20cm×30cm
□ Fusible interfacing: 20cmx20cm

We interviewed Mioko about her creation:

Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The pattern is not overwhelmingly ethnic and seemed sewing-friendly. I chose a refreshing color and utilized the entire design to create a large shoulder bag.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
It is a shoulder bag with tied handles. As an accent, I used a different color at the end of the handle. I intentionally chose the opposite color, salmon pink, to come up with a bright and lively look. By tying them into a bow or some other knots, you can create a different look.

KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
It is mainly constructed with one major piece of fabric, and there is no need to sew together the outer and lining fabrics, allowing you not to get too concerned about the measurements on the pattern. You can create your own look by easily adjusting the length or width of the bag.
