We interviewed Anriko about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?

This cotton linen material with a basket weave has a rough yet distinctive texture. I thought it would look nice if used for something wearable.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
The motif itself comes from the fabric’s title, Cookie can, so I wanted to emphasize that. It is a very sweet looking apron, yet has a cute and mature feel because of its chic color tone.

KF: What are some tips for making this apron?
Please be careful not to stretch the material as you sew the pieces together, specifically skirt and sides of the bodice piece, since the weave of the fabric has a tendency to stretch. Many of the hems are finished by wrapping around the end fabrics. For a much cleaner finish, I recommend an extra step of ironing the fabrics first.

KF: How should we use this apron in everyday situations?
This apron makes such a statement, and it actually goes well with any outfit (lol). When you want to look cute, going to a cooking class, or at a home party … this apron is great for all these occasions.

KF:Thank you very much, Anriko! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!

We interviewed Mioko about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
First, the illustration of the animal design that encompasses both cuteness and stylishness is attractive.
The fabric is reversible with orange stripes on one side and solid orange background on the other, and it is easy to use and coordinate with other fabrics.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
Since the fabric is sturdy, the bag can hold vertically by itself without having the backing. You can use it as a bag, or it works nicely as an interior décor piece for storing small items.

KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
While some people may find a round shape challenging, it is sometimes easier to create the round shape than having a straight corner on a square. It may take a little effort, but basting the pieces first make the process easier.

KF:How should we incorporate this bag into one’s styling?
I recommend adding hooks at the top or attach a drawstring closure at the opening. Since it’s a casual looking piece, why not coordinate it with a sporty style clothing.

KF: Thank you very much, Mioko! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!

We interviewed Yoko about her creation:
KKokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
A randomly placed polka dot design with a hand-painting touch looks lovely wherever you cut it. As an accent, I incorporated the solid fabric in matching color of the swallow and small triangle motifs.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
Adding the fusible quilt batting helps keep the shape. The piping cord attached to the lid and bottom edge works as an accent as well as to support it vertically. With the loop, you can hang the case while you use it if you choose to do so.

KF: What are some tips for making this case?
For a clean finish, when you work on the zipper, lid and bottom, take an extra step by basting the fabrics before machine sewing.

KF: How should we use this case in everyday situations?
Besides using it as a pen case, you will find the vertical container handy as a crochet hooks holder or as a PET bottle or stainless skinny thermos carrier.

KF: Thank you very much, Yoko! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!
