We interviewed Anriko about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The use of an extremely large design motif and color arrangement is beautiful. While the pattern is large, it repeats in relatively small segments, so I thought it would look great wherever you cut it for a piece of clothing.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
One idea is to feature the large motif as is, but I decided to piece it together this time with long vertical pieces for the front body. It is fun to figure out the design combination. On the contrary, I used the main central design in a major way for the back body.

KF: What are some tips for making this dress?
At first glance, you may not be familiar with this type of pocket, but it is an easy-to-sew pocket. It does not tension as much like the in-seam pocket. You also don’t need to worry about the stitch lines like the patch pocket. Overall, my intent was to make the process easy, so enjoy making it.

KF: How should we incorporate this dress into one’s styling?
For summer, enjoy a simple layer with a piece of tank top underneath. For spring, why not match it with a long-sleeve T-shirt or put it over a pair of pants underneath?
The dress length is set at the knee, thinking it is a comfortable length for mature women, but it also looks cute with a shorter length set at thigh level.

Pouch with a Buckle

Size: 29cm (l) 20cm (w – opening) 16cm (w – bottom) 4cm (d)

The plastic buckles are reasonable and come in many pretty colors. This unique pouch uses this type of buckle for its handle. From the botanical series, a single-color flower print fabric with a chic and stylish look is turned somewhat casual with a combination of red buckle and a tag and English letters. The red stamp on a tag adds a sharp accent.

We interviewed Yui about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?

The flower design is elegant and stylish without being too busy. A red buckle and a tag with English letters are matched to create a casual look.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
As you fold the top to close, it becomes a handle, so I came up with a size that is also suitable as a small bag to carry. I like this wraparound idea as you can adjust the size to be smaller by closing the buckle on the side or folding the top many times.

KF: What are some tips for making this pouch?
When you attach the band, you may find some areas hard to sew as the buckle gets in the way. If you use a zipper foot or reverse stitches, the process should get easier.

It is perfect for your lunch, like Onigiri rice balls, or use it to keep a camera or a phone/device charger.
