A simple snap closure could turn this large and roomy two-way tote bag into a compact carrier. With outer and inner pockets, all your small items can be neatly stored. The fabric used for this bag is from the Muddy Works’ “Anpan” series. A grayish-beige and navy color lightweight cotton canvas is matched with a moderately thick #9.5 canvas in olive brown.

Instructions
Preparations
Cut the fabrics according to the measurement.
1.
With the front sides facing outside, fold the outer pocket in half and apply stitches at the pocket opening.
2.
With the front sides facing each other, fold the inner pocket in half. Saw on three sides, leaving an opening for turning. Cut off the corner seam and turn the piece inside out. Apply stitches at the pocket opening.
3.
With the front sides facing outside, fold the handle fabric in four and sew both long ends.
4.
Baste the outer pocket at the bottom center of the front side of the outer fabric. Make two same pieces. Attach the handle to the outer fabric.
5.
With the front sides facing each other, sew together the outer fabric and bottom fabric. Press down the seam to the bottom side and apply stitches.
6.
Attach the inner pocket to the lining fabric.
7.
With the front sides facing each other, fold the outer fabric in half and sew both sides.
8.
Make a 12cm gusset. Cutt off the excess and apply zigzag stitches on the edge.
9.
Repeat the same process on the lining fabric.
10.
Fold the top opening of both outer and lining bags inward for 1cm. With the front sides facing outside, sew together the outer and lining bags around the top opening.
11.
Attach the Plasnap buttons.
