Interested in making a doll’s outfit? This gathered skirt with an elastic waist is a perfect piece for a sewing beginner. Made for a 22cm doll, the skirt features a thin fabric with a small pattern which works well for a doll’s clothing. The eye-catching beautiful colors are also ideal for a fun photo session with your favorite doll in a matching outfit.

Materials:
- Fabric: 25cm x 15,5cm
- Elastic Tape: Braid 4 Cord (approx. 3.5mm wide) x 15cm
Size: Length 13cm Around the hem 24cm (for dolls with 22cm height and 8cm waist)
Instructions
1.
Cut the fabric and apply anti-fray liquid seam sealant on the fabric edge.
2.
Fold the waist for 1.5cm, and 1cm for the hem.
3.
Make an opening for the elastic tape around the waist. Apply two stitches (one at 0.3cm from the top, and another at 0.7cm below the first stitch line (at 1cm from the top)). For the hem, apply stitches at 0.7cm from the bottom.
4.
Mark the elastic tape in two locations, one at 1cm from the end, and another at 8cm from the first mark (at 9cm from the end).
5.
Attach a clip on the end of the elastic tape with a 1cm marking to hold the end. Insert the other end through a knitting needle and tie the end loosely.
6.
Align the marking on the elastic tape and the end of the skirt. Sew together the skirt and elastic tape with the pinched end to secure.
7.
Repeat the same process on the other end. After sewing, cut the excess tape.
8.
With the front sides facing each other, align the back line and sew together.
9.
Turn the skirt inside out to finish!
