Mini Tote – Free Sewing Tutorial
This compact tote bag is perfect for a quick walk or outings. The highlight of the design is the use of two different outer fabrics with the handle extending from where these two designs meet. The fabrics used for this bag are echino's [wonder], featuring a vibrant floral and bird print, and echino's [fluff] with dots on a solid pattern covering the entire fabric. Both are cotton-linen canvas, easy-to-sew, and highly suitable for bag making.

Instructions
-

Cut the lining fabric gusset to 10cm tall and 6cm wide.
-

Make the handles. With the front sides facing outside, told the fabric as shown in the photo.
-

Then fold them in half again and sew both ends. Make two handles.
-

Baste the handles to the top edge of the outer fabric. Make two sets.
-

Sew together the top of the outer fabric (with handles attached) to the bottom of the outer fabric to form one piece of outer fabric. Press down the seam to the bottom side and apply topstitches along the seam from the front side.
-

With the front sides facing each other, put together two outer fabrics and sew the bottom.
-

Outer fabric spread out flat.
-

With the front sides facing each other, sew together the outer and lining fabrics at the top opening.
-

At the center of the bag opening, overlap the gusset sections of the outer fabric side (without the opening for turning) and the lining fabric side. Sew them together with a 5mm seam allowance. ※This prevents the lining fabric from being pulled when turning the bag inside out.
