We interviewed Masumi about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The fabric’s design looks natural and pretty, so I came up with an apron, like the one that servers at a stylish café wears.
KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
The focus is on straight cutting and stitching. This way it is easy to make without a pattern.
KF:What are some tips for making this apron?
As it only requires straight stitching, please pay extra attention to keep it straight as you cut and iron the fabric. With that in mind, you can make it with a clean finish.
KF:How should we use this apron in everyday situations?
The simple shape is also suitable for boys in different fabric designs. This time, the 60cm-long fabric is fully utilized to its maximum width. By adjusting the length to your kid’s height, you can make it in different sizes.
KF:hank you very much, Masumi! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!
