Drink Bottle Holder – Free Sewing Tutorial
This holder is designed to fit a large 650ml plastic drink bottle. The fabric used for this project is from the “Local Series—Traditional Toy Patterns.” It features a cheerful array of popular Japanese regional toys, such as Miyagi's Kokeshi wooden dolls and Gunma's Daruma papier-mache dolls. Made from 100% cotton oxford, this fabric is easy to sew even for beginners and is perfect for making bags and small accessories.

How to Make a Drink Bottle Holder

Cut the fabric and prepare the materials.

Fold the opening fabric over 1 cm along the short edge and stitch it down; fold the bottom fabric over 1 cm along the top of the long edge.

Place the opening and bottom pieces on the front of the main body fabric as shown in the image, and sew along the red lines on each. ※With the front sides facing outside. fold the opening piece in half, with the loop facing down.

Cut a 3.5 cm square out of the bottom corner.

Fold the opening fabric upward and stitch it from the front side. Sew two rows of stitching to hold the flat elastic in place. Fold the faux leather tab in half and baste it in place.

With the front sides facing each other, place the two main pieces and sew the sides and bottom.

Press the seam allowance open and sew the gusset.

Insert the flat elastic tape.

Attach the rivets to the faux leather tab, and it's done!
