This pouch with a folded flap is accented with fringes made from the fabric edge. The fabric used for this pouch is “Panther,” a popular design from the long-time favorite “echino.” Even with its slight thickness, it is an easy to sew #9.5 canvas fabric.

We interviewed Yui about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The not-too-sweet looking polka dots are stylish. While this pattern would look great for a large bag, this time I decided to create a flat pouch to highlight the polka-dots and leopard.
KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
The key feature of this piece is the placement of the leopard and the fringe made with fabric edge. With the handle, you can hang it on the wall and use it conveniently.
KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
First, decide on the position of the leopard and cut the fabric. Give it a thought, and make it lovely. The curves can be shaped with a stiletto or an iron for a beautiful finish.
KF: How should we incorporate this bag into one’s styling?
It is also cute to use as a hand-held mini bag. It holds a square-shaped photo book perfectly, so it would also be nice to use it as a gift bag for a commemorative photo book.
KF: Thank you very much, Yui! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!
