echino ni-co’s knit jacquard is turned into a pouch with a zipper. The ni-co’s masculine pattern looks slightly feminine with an addition of a fur tape. A bright red tape works as a playful accent. Why not try making this to add to your stylish collection for autumn?

We interviewed Yui about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
A lined design of glasses looks simple yet stylish. While it will be cute using it diagonally, for this piece, I took the design to line three pair of glasses vertically.
KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
The handle uses a bright red tape as an accent. With the fur tape, it creates a stylish fall feel.
KF: What are some tips for making this case?
Some people may find zipper attachment difficult, but there are tips to finish it cleanly, like folding the zipper edge and stitching by avoiding the lining fabric. I hope you will find my instructions helpful.
KF: How should we use this case in everyday situations?
It has a perfect size as a cosmetics bag as well as a pen case. You can never have too many of these items, so this will make a great gift.
KF: Thank you very much, Yui! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!
Instructions
2.
Adhere fusible interfacing on the outer fabric.
3.
With the front sides facing with each other, place the zipper in-between the outer and lining fabrics and sew together.
4.
Switch the presser foot to zipper presser foot. As shown, fold the edge of the zipper in a triangle and sew.
5.
Run stitches from the front side. When doing this, press the seam on the reverse to the main case side. It is sewn together, but for a cleaner finish, avoid sewing the lining fabric.
7.
With the front sides facing each other, sew together the outer fabrics and lining fabrics respectively, leaving an opening for turning on the lining fabric side.
8.
Turn it inside out and close the opening.
9.
Attach the fur tape using blind stitches. Fold in the end of the tape.
