Since single-use plastic shopping bags are no longer free at stores, “my reusable (eco) bag” has become a standard item. This bag in a plastic shopping bag design can be used not just by men, but by women, children and adults. A perfect fit for the whole family. Featured is a fabric from the “Men’s Eco Bag Kikaku (Plan)” series. As the name suggests, the denim design bag is fit for men to carry. 100% cotton sheeting is easy to sew and is recommended for sewing beginners.

We interviewed Yui about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
I thought that the denim pattern with a gentle feel would make a nice reusable bag that can be casually used by men and women as well as by children and adults. By matching the black tag and the paracord that has an outdoorsy touch, it creates an item fit for men.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
It is a simple shopping bag that men feel comfortable carrying, and is easy to fold when not in use. I focused on making it simple to sew, so I think that even handicraft beginners can make it nicely.

KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
When wrapping the bottom with a separate piece of fabric, I think it will have a high-quality look when it is finished with a concealed seam (applying stitches along the edge where two fabrics meet)

KF: How should we use this bag in everyday situations?
It’s simple and convenient, so it will make a perfect gift!

KF: Thank you very much, Yui! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!
