Size: 24cm (l) A 13cm B 8cm (Bottom diameter)

We interviewed Satomi about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The pattern was so cheerful that it makes you want to go out with a piece made with this fabric. So I made it into a stuff sack that can help neatly organize items for your going out.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
The round bottom makes it possible to store things securely and gives it a clean form. Adding a cord stopper creates a design that looks even cleaner. The 15cm bottom diameter is large enough to hold a large stole, and the 10cm bottom diameter is large enough to hold a scarf, 500ml plastic bottle drinks or water bottle. Please make it in any size you like.

KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
Circular bottoms are often thought to be more difficult than sewing square bottoms, but don’t be too concerned about creating additional tucks and give it a try. You will get the hang of it after sewing it a few times. It is also a good idea to make the bottom of the bag with the same fabric as the main body, or use a different fabric as an accent.

KF: How should we incorporate this bag into everyday situations?
It is very convenient to have a bag to store your belongings in small portions, such as stoles, gloves, children’s clothes and toys that you take off when you are out and about. One of the best things about handmade bags is that you can make them according to the size of your items. Why not make your original stuff sack with various fabrics and sizes and enjoy your time out?!

KF: Thank you very much, Satomi! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!

We interviewed Yui about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
As the name of the series “Chokotto Odekake (Quick Going Out) Bag” suggests, this fabric was perfect for a bag. It was sturdy and easy to sew, and I thought it would be cute as a casual shopping bag. If I combined it with gold hardware, it would also make a gorgeous fashionable bag! I decided to make a small shoulder bag.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
It has a stylish mini-drum shape and is large enough to hold a smartphone and a wallet. It is made with a firm quilt batting to prevent it from losing its shape.

KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
Sewing the circular pieces together may be difficult, so make sure to prepare well by using more clips for temporary holding the pieces and basting, and then stitch slowly. Repeat the same careful process for the zipper. It is also recommended to use a sewing glue for temporary basting.

KF: How should we incorporate this bag into one’s styling?
The color of the fabric is not too bright, so you can easily add vividness to a mature styling. I think it would be very cute if you coordinate it like an accessory.

KF: Thank you very much, Mio! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!

Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
It is so lovely with a lot of slightly different flowers lined up in a row! The simple design makes it look mature and can be used for a variety of items. This time, I chose black to give the bag a cute and grown-up look.
KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
I added a wide gusset of separate fabric to give the bag a boxy, structured look. It can hold a lot of things! The bottom is rounded to add cuteness.

KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
When sewing the gusset fabric together with the panel fabric, make a slit on the curve of the gusset fabric and sew it slowly for a clean finish.

KF: How should we incorporate this bag into one’s styling?
I think it goes well with simple, beautiful fashion. It will also look cute when carried with a pair of edgy style black skinny jeans.
