Recycled Denim-Style Bucket Bag Sewing Instruction

With a belt around it, this large bucket bag really looks like a pair of jeans. The length of the tied-handle is adjustable. The realistic print of the layered jeans is from the Ink Jet Series. It will be fun to make a matching tissue case and pouches.

We interviewed Yui about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
It has a unique design with a layered jeans motif, and the print is very realistic. While I thought that even a small item in this fabric will definitely stand out, I came up with a large bag so that the printed jeans design can be fully enjoyed.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
A regular belt is matched with a tubular bag, reminding you exactly of a pair of jeans. For the handle, what I had in mind was a tied denim shirt around your shoulder or hip. With ample room and an adjustable handle, this bag is quite convenient.

KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
When piecing together the round bottom, you may find it slightly difficult. The tip to finish it nicely is to use multiple sewing clips for holding fabrics together or basting beforehand.

KF: How should we incorporate this bag into one’s styling?
I used a belt from a dollar shop this time. You can replace it with the one you already have depending on your mood. You may also use a ribbon or a scarf for a different look. This bag can be a stylish accompaniment for a simple outfit.

Three piece Set of Tote Bag and Pouch -Made from only 1m of fabric!

Three items – tote bag, round bag and pouch – can be made with only 1m of fabric.
The featured fabric is from the Kira Kira Girls series. The stripe design with a lined-up stylish girls can turn into a large tote bag. The rest of the fabric with accessory motifs all over will become a small round bag and a pouch. The stripes on the edge of the fabric are utilized horizontally as the bag’s handles. The pouch is perfect for carrying makeup items.

Dress with Clown-Style Collar Sewing Instructions

A lovely baby’s dress with a clown-style collar is easy to put on and take off as the neckline and cuff are stretchable. The pretty soft-textured fabric with sprinkles of star embroidery is a thread-dyed jacquard waffle.

Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The soft and fluffy texture of the waffle fabric is perfect for a baby’s clothing. This fabric in particular, is lovely with star embroideries as an accent. With the appropriate thickness, it was easier to sew than you think.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
The neckline and cuff can stretch with the elastic tape. It makes it easy to put it on a baby who does not stay still. The loose body and sleeve make it versatile, allowing babies to wear it as a tunic blouse when they get older. By using the same pattern for both front and back, it was intended to be an easy- to-sew project. The process is simple, so I would really like sewing beginners to try making this dress.

KF: What are some tips for making this dress?
When attaching the collar to the body, please be extra careful with the front and back direction.

KF: How should we incorporate this dress into baby’s styling?
By modifying the length to be shorter, it can easily turn into a blouse. If you have remnants, this soft-textured fabric will become useful as a baby’s wipe cloth or small cases and bags.
