We interviewed Yui about her creation:
kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The cute pattern, studded with stars and constellations, is perfect for children’s preschool goods, but the shimmering gold ink makes it also suitable for grown-up use I thought. It has just the right thickness for a drawstring bag, so I made it into a convenient drawstring bag with a handle.
KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
To make the lovely night sky pattern look even cuter, I added plenty of ruffles all around it. A simple black tag and a black outdoor cord are used for the string for a sharper look so that even adults can use it.
KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
When sewing the cord insert opening, it is helpful to put masking tape on the sewing machine to use as a guide.
KF: How should we incorporate this bag into one’s styling?
The bag’s small size makes it perfect for a quick outing. I think the yellow star pattern against the white would go perfectly with a denim style coordination!
KF: Thank you very much, Yui! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!
