We interviewed Yui about her creation:
kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The cute pattern, studded with stars and constellations, is perfect for children’s preschool goods, but the shimmering gold ink makes it also suitable for grown-up use I thought. It has just the right thickness for a drawstring bag, so I made it into a convenient drawstring bag with a handle.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
To make the lovely night sky pattern look even cuter, I added plenty of ruffles all around it. A simple black tag and a black outdoor cord are used for the string for a sharper look so that even adults can use it.

KF: What are some tips for making this bag?
When sewing the cord insert opening, it is helpful to put masking tape on the sewing machine to use as a guide.

KF: How should we incorporate this bag into one’s styling?
The bag’s small size makes it perfect for a quick outing. I think the yellow star pattern against the white would go perfectly with a denim style coordination!

KF: Thank you very much, Yui! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!

Fabric shown for this sample:YKA-96010-2E

Materials:
□ Fabric (Outer Fabric): 55cm×45cm
(Lining Fabric): 55cm×45cm
□ Shank Button: 1 pair (2cm diameter)
□ Flatknit Zipper: One piece (20cm long)

Size: 15cm (l) 22cm (w-at opening) 17cm (bottom) 5cm (gusset width)

We interviewed Mioko about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
I came up with a clean and simple pouch. Black is chosen to give it a mature look, while the gentle curve at the top creates a softer look.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
I wanted to feature the flat surface to make the floral pattern look neat and cute, but also convenient, so a zippered pocket is added on the inside. To keep the cutting and sewing as simple as possible, I made the outer bag and the pocket the same width. Because of that, the inside pocket gets saggy when empty, but it settles down nicely once you put something inside. When not in use, you can keep it neatly along the inside wall.

KF: What are some tips for making this pouch?
When sewing the side ends of the outer and lining bags, please make sure to sew up to where it is supposed to stop, securely adding the back stitches. If you sew all the way to the top, the outer and lining bags will be sewn together, causing the puckering.

KF: How should we use this pouch in everyday situations?
It would be cute to make a coin purse, tissue case, key pouch, etc. from the same fabric to have the matching pieces inside your bag. Or attach leather tape with rivets and turn it into a bag!

KF: Thank you very much, Mioko! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!

Fabric shown for this sample:EGXA-6415-1A

Materials:
□ Fabric (Outer Fabric): 30cm × 35cm
(Lining Fabric(Cotton Linen Canvas)): 30cm × 35cm
□ Quilt Batting: 30cm x 35cm
□ Coil Zipper: One piece (14cm long)
□ Plasnap Snap Button: One pair (1cm diameter)
□ Key Ring: One piece (3cm diameter)

Size:15.8cm (l) 12cm (w)

We interviewed Yui about her creation:
Kokka Fabric (KF): What did you think of the fabric you used for this project?
The watercolor painting design looks very gentle and the colors are wonderful. I used a quilt batting to make it fluffy to match the image of this fabric.

KF: Can you tell us any special elements or ideas that you incorporated into this creation?
While cashless transactions are certainly convenient, cash is still necessary for payment from time to time. I created this convenient pouch style wallet in order to eliminate even a little of the hassle at the cashier. When you put bills, cards, and coins together, only the coins slide down and end up at the bottom.

KF: What are some tips for making this wallet?
Curves should be sewn slowly. When attaching a zipper, set the sewing machine’s presser foot to “zipper presser foot”. Snap buttons for hand sewing can be used.

KF: How should we use this wallet in everyday situations?
It comes with a key ring so you can carry your keys along with your wallet. It is also cute when attached to a bag using a carabiner or chain.

KF: Thank you very much, Yui! Here are sewing instructions along with step by step photos from her. Enjoy crafting!
